Connect launches its new accessible
website this month. The site is now
delivered using Connect’s content
management system, ConnectCMS. This
makes updating and maintaining the
site easy for non-technical staff –
exactly what Connect aims to deliver
to all clients.
“Moving the site on was very important
to us. We wanted to improve
accessibility for our customers and
ensure they find the information they
need,” said Colin Charlton,
CEO. “Having a content managed site
means that we can ensure our site
contains the very latest information
about Connect and our services.”
“We believe that the website shows our
clients and prospective customers how
Connect has changed and developed over
the past two years,” continues
Charlton. “Increasingly, our focus is
on providing mature Internet
solutions, characterised by a dynamic
database back-end system, combined
with a flexible front-end using web
technology. For example, our work
with the Scottish Assessors involved
collaborating with 14 regional
assessors to develop a content managed
web portal that enables citizens to
search an online database for
information on council tax and rates
in their area.”
The new Connect site also contains
information
about the company's continuing work in
the
area of training and elearning. Janet
Little, Deputy CEO, Connect Internet
Solutions comments; “The
site demonstrates that we are
continuing to take the lead in
providing Learning solutions. Our
eight Connect Learning Centres
throughout Merseyside continue to
provide businesses and the general
public access to a wide range of
accredited courses, including
learndirect and ECDL. We are also
delivering the Ambition:IT project,
preparing people for entry into the IT
industry, and offering businesses in
the North West a unique IT recruitment
solution.”
“Furthermore, the site
highlights our activities in
elearning. We work with organisations
who wish to create their own elearning
programmes for staff and customers,
and have developed an elearning course
creation tool, CourseMaker, to enable
non-technical staff to create courses.”
The Connect website will be the
strategic core of marketing efforts,
acting as a strong foundation for all
other marketing communications.
Alongside information about Connect’s
services, the site will feature the
latest news and announcements, along
with a supporting portfolio of clients
and useful resources on the latest
Internet developments.
