Knowsley Council
for over six years to define and
implement its electronic service
delivery via a number of channels.
The Solution
Connect provides Knowsley Council with
a
managed service which includes a full
hosting solution including bandwidth
provision, development and maintenance
of bespoke applications to support
e-government on web, kiosk and
interactive digital television,
provision of a content management
service to enable Knowsley Council to
manage the site content; e-commerce
facilities and services; integration
services (e.g. an online payment
transaction system with back office
financial systems) and value added
services such as statistical analysis,
automatic
submission to search engines using
Signpost, forums technologies, and job
vacancy advertising using
Northwest Workplace.
As a result of its work with Connect,
Knowsley Council became the first
local
authority on
interactive digital television.
The Results

website, cutting costs and ensuring
information is up-to-date
- Easy citizen access to services
through a variety of different
platforms including Internet, digital
television and
kiosk
- Enables the citizen to communicate

tools such as guestbooks, online
questionnaires and polls

international recognition, winning
several awards including Beacon
Council Status 2003 for Social
Inclusion through ICT and the 1999

Bangemann Challenge
